Workplace Grant Funding (WCS)

The WCS grant funding scheme is a voucher-based system. The scheme is available to businesses, charities, and public authorities, and is capped at £500 per socket, up to 40
sockets per applicant business. To qualify:

• You must have off-street parking and have a need for electric vehicle charge points.
• Your charge points must be installed by an OZEV-approved installer.

Since April 2026 applications are made through the government’s new digital grant service. We walk you through it as part of the free survey.

EV Chargepoint Grant for Residential Landlords

Residential landlords, freeholders of multi unit properties, right to manage companies, social housing providers and property management companies can claim 75% of the cost of buying and installing charge points, up to £500 per socket, for up to 200 sockets per year. Applicants need to be registered at Companies House or VAT registered, and the scheme runs until 31 March 2027.

EV Chargepoint Grant for Renters and Flat Owners

People who rent their home or own a flat, with dedicated off street parking, can claim up to £500 per socket towards a home charge point. The maximum contribution rose from £350 to £500 in April 2026 and the scheme runs until 31 March 2027.
Landlords often pair this with the landlord grant above to bring charging to a whole development.

Schemes that closed in March 2026

Three grant schemes closed to new applications on 31 March 2026: the infrastructure grant for staff and fleets, the chargepoint grant for commercial landlords, and the infrastructure grant for residential car parks. Workplace Charging Scheme for state-funded education institutions

Grant funding is available for state-funded schools and education institutions to install electric vehicle chargers at their sites.

Grant funding offers up to 75% off the cost of purchasing and installing EV chargers, up to a maximum of £2,000 per socket, up to 40 sockets across all sites.
